Duterte still in Davao, however intently checking storm Rolly circumstance — Palace

President Rodrigo Duterte stays in his old neighborhood Davao, yet is intently checking the status and circumstance of storm Rolly, his representative said Sunday. 

"Sa ngayon po, nasa Davao po ang ating Presidente. Ang planned pagbalik po niya ay sa Tuesday, pero siya po ay nakatutok, at siya nga po annoy utos sa atin na mag-lead ng ganitong press instructions," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during a preparation of public government authorities. "Nagmo-screen po ang ating Presidente." 

[Translation: The President is in Davao until further notice. His planned outing back is on Tuesday, yet he is observing the circumstance, and he's the person who requested us to lead this press briefing.] 

Duterte had avoided the said preparation of elevated level authorities, provoking netizens to scrutinize the CEO's whereabouts. The hashtag #NasaanAngPangulo (where is the president) shot to the top moving subjects of online media throughout the end of the week. 

Clarifying the nonappearance, Roque said it would be difficult for the President to go to the capital district right now because of the nasty climate. 

Notwithstanding, the Palace representative said he anticipates that Duterte should address the country soon. 

"Alam ko po there will be a location, hindi ko lang po alam precisely kung kailan. However, the country will discover, I will give notification ahead of time po," Roque said.

Storm Rolly has made three landfalls as of Sunday early afternoon, with typhoon notice Signal No. 4 actually brought up in a few territories in Luzon. 

Catastrophe authorities said more than 300,000 people were preemptively emptied from various areas of Luzon and Visayas in front of the normal storm danger.
